About IAGES

Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo-Surgeons

IAGES was established in 1993 under the leadership of Prof. T.E. Udwadia, and has grown into one of the foremost laparoscopic and endoscopic surgical associations in Asia. The organisation now maintains close to 8,000 active life members, with representation across India and a network of international honorary members.

IAGES publishes the JIMAS journal — a peer-reviewed, PubMed-indexed quarterly publication distributed to members — and hosts an annual three-day national congress each February at rotating venues across India, attracting an average of 1,500 delegates.
