PERFUSION... FLUORESCE YOUR FLOW

Target audience: All Delegates & Consultants interested in acquiring skills in image guided surgery.

Learning objectives:
1. Understand the mechanism of action of indocyanine green
2. Learn the key indications for use
3. Familiarise the learner with the mixing of the solution as well as the dosage
4. Learn the key tips and tricks required to ensure that fluorescence guided surgery can improve patient safety and outcomes

The journey to surgical mastery requires a deep understanding about pathology, diagnostics and the effective treatment of disease. Improving outcomes in surgery requires compounding of marginal gains by effective learning. This session explores in depth the use of fluorescence guided surgery using indocyanine green to enhance your performance, improve patient safety and deliver consistent results for your patients. The session will be interactive and use high quality audiovisual resources to give you a surgeon’s eye view of how to implement this in your practice as well as ensure accurate preparation, dosage and reading of the images. You will leave the session with a comprehensive set of tools to use ICG in your clinical practice.
Mr Michael Blackmore will be available for drop in sessions on the Kimal stand 10 during the ASM.

The ALSGBI would like to thank all Consultants who donated in previous years. The money collected will be allocated to all Trainee authors presenting an oral paper at the conference this year, to help cover the cost of registration fees.
